Kids Cancer

The world's most heart-breaking cancer...

In the UK, around 1,838 children aged 0 - 14 years get diagnosed with cancer each year.

Even though cancer is not common in children, it is a leading cause of death. The 2nd most common cause of death in children is accidents.

Smoking in front of children...

Is your selfish smoking addiction killing your Kids?

Your child breathes faster than you, they'll breathe more of those harmful chemicals. No matter what you do, if you smoke indoors, or smoke in the car when they are sat in the back, those harmful chemicals from your second-hand smoke will hang around for hours doing real harm to your kids and increasing their risk of illness. Here's one view of life:

  • You are born to bury your parents
    (it's sad, but that's life).
  • A tragedy is when you have to bury your children.
  • A crime is when you have to bury your kids because you were selfish enough to put your wants, desires and addictions, before their well being and safety.

Please don't be a selfish arse and gamble with your kids lives. If you have to smoke and want to risk your life, do so, but do it far away from your kids.

Don't ever, ever, ever let you kids think that smoking is cool!

Cancer stories to read with your kids and grandkids...

About Joey's and Mary's Story

There are many great sites that share children's cancer stories. They help parent (and families) understand the trauma of having to deal with a troublesome and tragic event.

Joey's and Mary's story is aimed at the child - not the parent!

Using a child's storybook format, the idea is that a parent, grandparent, etc. sits with child and reads the book as if it they were reading something like a 'Peter Rabbit' storybook. It aims to help kids understand in terms they will understand and tries hard to avoid adult words where possible. I hope this new format works, other stories are already in the pipeline....
